How it works
- A small amount of salt (sodium chloride) is added to the pool water.
- The salt chlorinator's electrolytic cell uses electrolysis to convert the chloride in the salt water into chlorine.
- The chlorine produced is in the form of chlorine gas, hypochlorous acid, and sodium hypochlorite, which are all used to sanitize pools.
